The
Fair City Singers have now appeared four times on the BBC
1 television series 'Songs of Praise'. Their latest appearance
was shown in October 2004 when 18 of the choir were seen singing
on a summer day by the Caledonian Canal.
On
21st January 2001 they were seen singing by the side of Loch
Laggan and in a local church. This was recorded on a grey
cold day in December 2000.
On
Sunday 30th July 2000 they played a major part in a special
edition of 'Songs of Praise' celebrating the 100th birthday
of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. On a sunny 18th June
they were filmed at Glamis Castle, her childhood home. The
Fair City Singers were proud and delighted to be chosen to
take part.
On
31st December 1999 they featured in world-wide television’s
coverage of the New Year's Eve Opening Concert at London’s
Millennium Dome. As part of a 300 strong massed choir they
sang John Taverner's 'A New Beginning'. Click here
