ANDREW MANN

Andrew Mann is from Perth, and started his woodwind instrumental studies under Philip Alexander at Perth Academy. He studied clarinet as an undergraduate at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Joy Farrall and Dame Thea King, and is now studying as a post-graduate for a diploma in orchestral training.

Prior to starting higher education, he studied with Alison Waller at the Junior Department of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama for two years, where he won the Ivan Sutton Woodwind Prize. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland from 2000-2004 and performed in their 2004 Promenade concert in the Royal Albert Hall. He was also a member of Camerata Scotland and toured with them in Scotland in 2003 and Europe in 2005.

Andrew also enjoys playing saxophone and flute and is now a versatile freelance musician based in London. His work has taken him to Hawaii for Princes cruise ships and he recently performed a specially commissioned concerto by composer Simon Clark with the London Primavera Orchestra.
